Detailed Itinerary of 10-day 9-night Congo Wildlife Safari tour
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Rwanda.
On your arrival at Kigali International Airport for your

Day 2 –Travel From Kigali Rwanda To Bukavu
After breakfast then we travel to Bukavu, on your way, you will have a stopover in Butare to visit Rwanda’s National Museum and also in Nyanza where you will visit the King’s Palace and the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Site.
It's in Nyanza that you will have your lunch and thereafter proceed with the travel to Bukavu passing through Nyungwe National Park and enjoying the view of the amazing Lake Kivu, on arrival in Bukavu you will have dinner and overnight at the Panorama Hotel.
Day 3: Trek lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park
Wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast, and then later travel with the ultimate wild safari driver guide to Kahuzi Biega National Park for a lifetime Gorilla Tour in the Democratic Republic of Congo where you will tour the lowland gorillas.
In Africa gorillas are categorized into two; lowland gorillas and mountain gorillas and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Kahuzi Biega National Park is a home for both lowland gorillas and mountain gorillas.

Day 4: Travel From Kahuzi Biega National Park (Bukavu) To Goma
Wake up early morning for breakfast and then be transferred by the ultimate wild safari driver guide to Goma city.
On the journey from Bukavu to Goma, you will be transferred by speed boat which will take 3 to 4 hours, when you reach Goma, you will be transferred to the booked hotel and refresh, have dinner, and overnight stay at Hotel Linda.
If time allows, you will have a short Goma city tour and then dinner and overnight at Linda Hotel.
Day 5: Travel From Goma To Virunga National Park
Have breakfast and then check out from the hotel to embark on the travel to Virunga National Park. The travel to Virunga National Park takes to the Grande Barrier border. Make sure you arrive at the border before 10:30 am and check into the Virunga tourist office by 11:45 am. At the Virunga National Park before embarking on the gorilla tour activity.
After the process, you will be transferred to Mikeno Lodge or Kibumba Tented Camp at the Virunga National Park headquarters in Rumangabo, you will be served lunch on arrival at the lodge and then in the afternoon relax at the lodge.
You can decide to do a short community tour, and birding, and then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Tour In Virunga National Park
Wake up for breakfast and thereafter transfer to Bukima Ranger post where you will meet the Virunga National Park ranger guides and some locals’ porters who are meant to help you carry your luggage at a given cost.
On arrival, you will present your gorilla trekking permit and then go in for a short briefing about the gorilla trek activity, later you embark on your Democratic Republic of Congo Mountain gorilla tour, which takes 1 to 2 hours before you meet/tour the gorillas.
On touring the gorillas you will be given one hour to spend with the gorillas as you observe their behavior, take photos, and catch a feel for their environment.
After one hour you will return to the Bukima camp where you will have your late lunch. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure and then spend your nights at the Bukima tented camp or Kibumba Tented camp.
Day 7: Relaxation at the lodge or Optional Tour activity
On this seventh Day of your 10 Days DR Congo Wildlife Safari Tour, you will be given a full day to yourself to enjoy the environment as you explore the surroundings at Mikeno Lodge or Kibumba Tented Camp and do some community tours or birding if you wish and other leisure activities, and overnight stay at either Mikeno lodge or Kibumba Tented camp.
Day 8: Hiking Nyiragongo Volcanoes
Wake up early for your 10-day 9-night DR Congo Wildlife Safari Tour, have breakfast then be transferred to the Kibati ranger post.
On arrival at Kibati post, you will go through a briefing and this is where you can get a chance to hire porters. Kibati Rangers post is the starting point of the mountain Nyiragongo trek.
The hike to mountain Nyiragongo takes about 4 to 6 hours and upon reaching the summit you will get a chance to view the boiling lava of the active volcano, you will spend the night at the mountain Nyiragongo summit shelters. Day 9: Descend from the Nyiragongo Volcano summit and then Travel to Lake Kivu
On this day Nine on your 10 Days 9 Night DR Congo Wildlife Safari Tour, you will wake up for breakfast and then descend from the Nyiragongo summit.
The descending will take about 4 hours, after at Kibati post at the bottom you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you back to Goma and continue your journey to Lake Kivu and overnight stay at Lake Kivu Lodge.
Day 10 Of 10: Departure Day
Today is the end of your 10-day DR Congo Wildlife Safari Tour, Wake up for breakfast, and then travel from Lake Kivu to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home hence calling it to end of the trip.
