Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Meet your safari guide and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy an evening relaxation at the lodge surrounded by wildlife sounds.


Day 2: Birding & Game Drive – Lake Mburo

Early morning game drive focusing on birding and wildlife viewing. Expect sightings of:

  • African fish eagle
  • Grey crowned crane
  • Hornbills and bee-eaters
  • Zebras, impalas, elands, and warthogs

Optional afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo for aquatic bird species.


Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    You will be picked from the air port by our driver guide. Meet and greet then have lunch at a nice restaurant around Entebbe before you start your journey to Lake Mburo National park where you will reach in the evening, check into your accommodation and get refreshed. You will relax at the lodge for the entire evening.

    Day 2: Of 5 Days Uganda Birding Tour - Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth And Kyambura Chimp Tracking, Game Drive: Afternoon Boat
    In the morning after breakfast, get set to take game drive through the national park with your guide. Lake Mburo National Park accommodates mammals like the Eland, antelope, waterbucks and a favorite park for zebras, making it among the most admirable places to visit in Uganda.

    The park is exceptional for its attractive, soothingly sloping hills and open grassland basins, intermingled with brushwood, woodlands and rich wetlands. While at the park you will see animals like the impalas, water-bucks, the Cape buffalo and zebras plus many other animal species.

    In the afternoon, take a Boat Ride and optional evening nature walk respectively. A boat ride on Lake Mburo to view aquatic animals like hippos’ buffaloes, and crocodiles alongside the many birds around the area which are attractive to see and nature is worth its time.

    Day 3: Of 5 Days Uganda Birding Tour - Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth And Kyambura Chimp Tracking, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth For Game Drive & Boat
    After a delicious Breakfast, you will be picked by our guide from your accommodation and you embark on your journey to the famous Queen Elizabeth National park. The Park covers an area of about 1978 km2; its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and Gorge.

    The park has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any national park in the world as its well known to be habitat of about 95mammals along with 612 species of birds. On arrival, you will do a short game drive, on search for a numbery of wildlife in the park like; Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Warthog.

    After lunch you’ll be transferred for an afternoon launch boat cruise trip along the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe.

    You can expect to see: Buffalo, Crocodile, bathing Elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. After the amazing boat-safari you do a game drive back to the lodge.

    Day 4: Of 5 Days Uganda Birding Tour - Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth And Kyambura Chimp Tracking, Chimp tracking AT KYAMBURA.
    After breakfast at your book, our drive guide will transfer you heading to the Stunning Kyambura also called the “Valley of Apes” located in the far eastern corner of the well- known Queen Elizabeth National Park in south western Uganda.

    Approximately 1 km across – at its broadest point and about 100 meters deep, this gorge is actually drained by River Kyambura. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds.

    The Kyambura Gorge is a section of the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park or the Mweya (as it is referred to locally) in the lower Western part of Uganda. The majority of visitors into the Queen Elizabeth National park are offered a tour of this amazing gorge as a supplementary bonus.

    However, basing on reports made by researchers, only sixteen chimpanzees are remaining within this distant yet very impressive valley. Enter into this amazing Gorge and you will be marveled by the verdant, rich Tropical Rain-forest right close to the Equator crossing.

    The gorge is another world on its own. while the Savannah above has a reasonable amount of light, plus sun shine that offers brightness, the tree canopy within this under-ground forest comprised of rich blocks of plant life shut out most of the sun rays and unless you are standing within a clearing you certainly will not require sunglasses or sun- hats since you may actually need to have a clearly view so as not to miss out on the great assortment of Wonders within the Kyambura Gorge.

    In the Afternoon after lunch you have you go for your evening game drive through the park. Your guide will help you spot the plethora of wildlife found in the Park, You will be able to see a numbery animals for example: elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds. They are all there!

    Day 5: Of 5 Days Uganda Birding Tour - Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth And Kyambura Chimp Tracking, Drive Back to Kampala
    After breakfast, ultimate wild safaris guide will transfer you proceeding back to Kampala with enroout lunch and a stop at the equator in Masaka town. At this point, there are two cement circles marking the equator line and it is worth stopping if you are traveling to Masaka or Kampala for a photo moment.

    Also watch a demonstration by local entrepreneur on how water swirls in opposite directions in the northern & southern hemispheres at the equator line, another reason that make equator worthwhile stop are the great shopping bargains.

    The point has got several craft shops and art galleries run by individuals and organizations. These craft stalls sell souvenirs and handmade products while some with marks talking about the Equator.

    It will not be inconveniencing if you bought a T-shirt with words ‘I crossed the Uganda Equator’ Countinue with your journey, the driver will drop you at your accommodation either in Kampala /Entebbe or to airport for flight back home as you may wish.
