Day 1
  • 08:00 AM

    Day 1: Depart to Kidepo National park.
    Today our guide will pick you and start the drive to Kidepo National park (nominated as Africa’s leading parks in 2013 by the world travel awards). The Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, gazetted as a national park in 1962; it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species -

    The Park’s altitude ranges between 914m and 2,750m above sea level. The park contains two rivers Kidepo and Narus which disappear in the dry season, leaving just pools for the wildlife. Time permitting you can go for your first game-drive in the late afternoon/evening after check-in at your accommodation. Journey Time: 6 hours

Day 2
  • 08:00 AM

    Day 2: Game drives & Hot Springs
    After breakfast proceed for an early morning game drive; as long as you wish, a park ranger will help you spot the lions that may be sitting on the valley’s various rocks.

    Other wildlife includes elephants, leopard, bush duiker, jackal, bushbuck, bush pig, ostrich, buffalo and much more, in the wild Narus Valley. After lunch, go for an afternoon game drive through to the hot springs via the palm tree lined Kidepo River, Search for ostriches and leopard tortoises along the way. Finally dinner and overnight.

Day 3
  • 08:00 AM

    Day 3: Game drive in the morning and visit local communities/Cultural tour.
    After breakfast today you visit the Cultural Groups and explore the fascinating, ancient culture of the Karamojong. Visit traditional homesteads, sample local dishes and hear stories of the folklore of this remote tribe. In the afternoon, you may opt to relax at your accommodation or go for an optional game drive or enjoy a safari walk through the park.

Day 4

    Day 4: Transfer to Lira.
    After breakfast, you proceed to Lira; the road to Lira will be rough, and dusty depending on the weather condition. Lira is a city in Northern Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative and commercial centre of Lira District. The coordinates of Lira are: 02 14 56N, 32 54 00E (Latitude: 02.2490; Longitude: 32.8999). Optional accommodations in Lira Include: Lira hotel or Lillian towers. Journey Time: 5hours

    Day 5: Drive Back to Kampala.
