Day 1

    Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park.
     Ultimate wild safaris representative will pick you up from either Kigali Airport or your accommodation in Kigali. You will continue your journey to the Virunga ranges, home of the Mountain Gorilla. You will stay at one of the lodges known for its tranquility and views. If it is luxury you will stay at Virunga Lodge. This is one of the most beautiful lodges in Rwanda. The location of the Virunga Lodge is simply sublime! On one side you see the lakes Burera and Ruhondo. On the other side, you have magnificent views of the volcanoes Karisimbi, Mikeno and Visoke. The stylish accommodation is an oasis of calm. Journey Time 2 – 3 hours.

    Day 2: Volcanoes national park gorilla trekking Tour
    In the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Office Rwandais du Tourisme et Des Parc Nationaux to start for a special day of Trekking the Volcanoes national park Mountain gorillas.The head-ranger of the park will divide you into groups. The mountain Gorillas you will track belong to one of seven habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. From Volcanoes national park office your ultimate wild safaris driver guide will take you as close as possible to the starting-point of your tracking.
    Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the Gorillas’ habitat. En-route, your guide will point out signs of previous Gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The time taken to track the Gorillas can take as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours! Once the Gorillas have been located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a Mountain Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Rwanda’s own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Journey Time, 15 minutes by car trekking time varies.
