Day 1: Arrival in Juba

  • Arrival and welcome briefing
  • Currency exchange and travel permits processing

Day 2: Flight to Kapoeta – Toposa Tribe

  • Transfer to the airport for the domestic flight (~2 hours)
  • Arrival in Kapoeta, gateway to Toposa land
  • Visit a Toposa village (time permitting)
  • Introduction to cattle-herding traditions

Day 3: Toposa → Kimatong (Larim/Boya Tribe)

  • Early morning cultural photography session
  • Drive (~100 km) to Boya Mountains
  • Visit the Larim (Boya) villages
  • Experience scarification, adornment, and daily life

Day 4: Kimatong → Ilieu (Lotuko Tribe)

  • Drive toward the Imatong region
  • Visit Lotuko communities near Mount Kinyeti

Day 5: Return to Juba

Day 1

    Detailed Itinerary
    Day 1 - Arrival in Juba
    On arrival at Juba International Airport, in the capital of the world’s youngest nation, South Sudan. Ultimate Wild Safaris guide will meet you at the Airport and transfer you to Hotel in Juba, where you will spend the night. Depending on your arrival time, we will take a short Juba city tour to South Sudan’s biggest market, Konyo Konyo. While in the market, you will have an overview of South Sudan’s diverse communities portrayed in their style of dressing and facial or body scarifications. Finally, Dinner and overnight at Royal Palace hotel.

Day 2

    Day 2 –Transfer from Juba to Terekeka Home Town For Mundari.
    After breakfast, You will be transferred from Juba to Terekeka, four hours’ drive from Juba. We take lunch at a local Restaurant called Naivasha. Naivasha is a name of a lake and town in Kenya but it has historical ties to South Sudan as it was the town where peace talks that culminated in the Comprehensive Peace agreement between the government of Sudan and rebels (SPLM/A).

    We then proceed to introduce ourselves to state government authorities (although they will be informed in advance that we will be coming). We then drive to Mundari cattle camp, where we will camp for two days. Evenings and mornings will be ideal for photography especially when the cattle return from grazing. Finally Dinner and overnight camping.
    Accommodation: tents close in the cattle camp.

Day 3

    Day 3 - Exploring Mundari cattle camp and villages
    Today marks the highlight of the Mundari encounter, Early morning photography and then have breakfast, thereafter we continue exploring the Mundari villages and their everyday life. Accommodation: tents close to the cattle camp

Day 4

    Day 4 - Final moments with the Mundari, Transfer to To Juba Capital City.
    Have early breakfast, Morning photo shoot at dawn and transfer back to Juba. Finally Lunch,Dinner and overnight at Royal Palace Hotel.

Day 5

    Day 5 - Domestic Flight TO Bor Town, Main Town For the Dinka
    Have early morning breakfast at Royal Palace Hotel, then 2 hour flight to Bor Town. You will have lunch,Dinner and and overnight stay in Bor Town the main town for dinka, Accommodation: tents

    Day 6 - Explore Dinka cattle camp and villages
    Have early breakfast, Then head to encounter the cattle camps for morning photography. Have Lunch and then have afternoon and evening photo shoot.

    Day 7 - Domestic Flight Transfer from Bor town to Juba City
    Before transferring to Juba city, you will have morning photography. Thereafter, you will be transferred by domestic flight back to Juba capital city.

Day 8

    Day 8 - Juba city tour and Departure
    Have breakfast then Morning Juba city tour:- Presidential Palace, Dr. John Garang Mausoleum, Jubek tomb, craft market. Please Note: Cameras are prohibited, thereafter have lunch and Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
