Detailed Itinerary
04:30 AM – Early Morning Pickup in Kigali Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Kigali. After a short briefing, you will begin your scenic drive in the northwestern region of Rwanda.
06:30 AM – Arrival at Volcanoes National Park Headquarters. Arrive at Kinigi, the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, where you will: Register for your gorilla trekking permit, Attend a briefing by park rangers, Be assigned a gorilla family group.
07:30 AM – Start of Gorilla Trekking Experience
Begin your guided gorilla trekking safari through the dense rainforest slopes of the Virunga Mountains.
Trek duration: 1 to 6 hours, depending on gorilla location.
Terrain: Steep, muddy, and incredibly scenic
Along the way, spot birds, monkeys, and unique vegetation
Gorilla Encounter – 1 Hour with Mountain Gorillas
